Minutes from August 14, 2008 -

FLBC Meeting at Red Lobster; Minutes submitted by Judy Berman, Secretary.

 

Commodore Marcia Adler is away until Labor Day; Keith Berkebile, Vice Commodore conducted the meeting.

 

We had about 17 members in attendance.

 

Meeting started at 7:15.

 

After the pledge, Diana Lurie, Chaplain, read a thought entitled, "Life is Short".  She announced birthdays - 8/15 Sue Tattelman, and anniversaries 8/11 - Bob & Debbie Sprengart and 8/28 - Jeff & Judy Berman.  She presented the Sprengarts and Bermans with a gift.  A door prize was also given to one of our members.

 

Treasurer Carol Schroeder announced the balance of the treasury is $3,180.84.

 

Vice Commodore's Report - Keith will bring the menu for the Installation dinner at the next meeting.  Marina Bay trip - Labor Day - Richard will announce information regarding the trip when he and Gloria arrive after 8:00 tonight.

 

Meeting/Social Coordinator Joan Hillegas announced the September 11th meeting will be at DeSol, on Sample Road.  Meeting is at 7:00, we will have Early Bird prices, a glass of wine is included.

 

Dinner was ordered - and delivered - meeting will continue after dinner is completed.

 

50/50 Raffle - was won by Dave Schroeder.

 

Fleet Coordinator's Report:  Labor Day/Marina Bay trip:  Richard and Gloria arrived an distributed a list with whomever signed up for Marina Bay.  Hillegas and Seidmans were not on the list.  They will call Marina Bay and add themselves to the list.  We receive one night free with one paid night.  If staying longer, call Marina Bay 954-954-791-7600.  Any questions or cancellations, call Marina Bay and Richard 954-566-7120.
